BOTOX Cosmetic
Personalized care for expression lines. Explore a smoother, refreshed appearance.
A REFRESHED LOOK, PERSONALIZED TO YOU
Expression lines are part of an expressive face. If they bother you, a consultation can help you explore a softer, refreshed appearance while keeping your goals and facial balance in focus.
HOW BOTOX COSMETIC WORKS
BOTOX Cosmetic (onabotulinumtoxinA) temporarily relaxes selected muscles that contribute to expression lines. It is a prescription treatment, not a facial or a dermal filler. A qualified medical professional assesses your facial movement and plans the injection sites.
TREATMENT AREAS
FDA-approved cosmetic uses in adults include moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows, forehead lines, crow’s feet and vertical neck bands. The areas appropriate for you depend on an individual assessment.
IS IT RIGHT FOR ME?
Discuss your goals, medical history, previous cosmetic procedures, medicines and supplements with your treating clinician. Mention pregnancy, plans for pregnancy or breastfeeding, muscle or nerve conditions, and any swallowing or breathing problems. Certain allergies and infection at a planned injection site rule out treatment.
YOUR APPOINTMENT
Your consultation is the time to ask about the injector’s qualifications, the proposed plan, alternatives and realistic outcomes. If treatment is appropriate, small injections are placed in selected muscles. You should receive individual aftercare instructions and a plan for follow-up.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How long does treatment take?
The injections commonly take about 10–15 minutes. Allow additional time for consultation, assessment and preparation.
When will I see results?
Changes may begin within 24–48 hours, with full results by 30 days. Effects may last up to four months; your response and treatment area can affect the timeline.
Will I still look like myself?
The goal is to soften selected lines while preserving a natural appearance. Careful placement and dosing matter, and results cannot be guaranteed.
Is there downtime?
Many people return to ordinary activities promptly. Temporary redness, swelling, soreness or bruising can occur. Follow your clinician’s guidance on exercise, makeup and skin care, and avoid rubbing or massaging treated areas.
What risks should I know about?
Headache, eyelid or brow drooping and other adverse effects are possible. Rarely, toxin effects can spread. Seek immediate medical help for difficulty swallowing, speaking or breathing. Review the full product information and Medication Guide with your clinician.
