Dysport
Temporary muscle relaxation for a softer appearance of expression lines.
About the treatment
Dysport is a prescription botulinum toxin treatment for temporary improvement of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows in adults younger than 65. A qualified medical provider determines suitability.
What to expect
Treatment involves a series of small injections after an assessment of facial movement. Changes develop gradually, and maintenance may be considered when the effect wears off. Timing and response differ between people.
Suitability and important considerations
Bruising, headache, asymmetry and eyelid or brow drooping can occur. Botulinum toxin effects can rarely spread beyond the injection area. Seek urgent medical help for trouble swallowing, speaking or breathing. Discuss neuromuscular conditions and all medicines; treatment is unsuitable with certain allergies or infection at the injection site. Tell your provider about any allergy to cow's milk protein.
Your consultation
Discuss your goals, health history, allergies, medicines and previous treatments before deciding on a plan. Your provider will explain alternatives, likely recovery and individual aftercare. Results vary. A consultation does not commit you to treatment.
