Radiesse
A calcium hydroxylapatite filler for selected volume and contour concerns.
About the treatment
Radiesse contains calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres in a gel carrier. It provides support in appropriate treatment areas and can stimulate collagen. It is different from a hyaluronic acid filler.
What to expect
Your provider assesses facial proportions and discusses an individualized plan before treatment. Temporary swelling or bruising may initially affect the appearance. Follow the specific aftercare instructions and allow healing before judging the result.
Suitability and important considerations
Possible effects include tenderness, swelling, bruising, infection and lumps. Rare injection into a blood vessel can cause tissue damage, blindness or stroke. Sudden unusual pain, skin color changes or visual symptoms require urgent medical attention. Suitability depends on the product, treatment area and medical history. This material is not dissolved by the enzyme used for hyaluronic acid fillers.
Your consultation
Discuss your goals, health history, allergies, medicines and previous treatments before deciding on a plan. Your provider will explain alternatives, likely recovery and individual aftercare. Results vary. A consultation does not commit you to treatment.
